RATS!

Animal Type: Rat
Last seen: Saturday night, 5:30 pm
Where: Unnamed to protect the innocent (but not my home!)
Number of pests seen: 4

Yes 4!

I pulled a bag of cardboard blocks off of a top shelf. When the bag hit the ground I noticed 3 holes on the side (along with a big pee stain.) I was concerned.

I was very concerned when the bag began to move on its own.

Out popped the first rat and ran under the cupboard.

I screamed.

Out popped the second rat as I dragged the bag to the door.

I screamed again.

Out popped the third rat as I opened the door.

I ran out of screams and just jumped around with the heebie jeebies.

Fortunately the fourth rat had the wits to wait until Austin drug the bag to the dumpster.

I've had enough of the rats, mice and bugs this spring. If its bad now I can't imagine what spider season will be like in the Fall.

The next time you see them, you should try humming a few bars - maybe they'll start cleaning for you like the rats did in the movie Enchanted. Of course, if the rats are anything like Jack, when you start singing they'll try to bite you (or at that the very least poop on you); so perhaps it's not such a good idea after all...

Using my detective skills, I think I can guess where you saw the little guys. Megan told me s similar story that her teacher told her.

Hopefully, the rats have met their maker by now. The exterminator set out traps yesterday.

Seriously...I can't wait till the new place is built!

yep, they give me the creeps too. when i lived in kenya, i had problems with rats AND bats. that wasn't very fun either...

I do know for a fact that somebody went to work early today. Something about "gotta see about those rats and make sure they are history"...hopefully.

Ooohhh...the hunt is on. I can't wait to hear if they caught any.

Good news...they've dispatched more than a few already. Bad news...they cannibalized one of their own. Brandon's got pics to prove it. (Use your own discretion as to whether or not you want to look at them.)

I made the mistake of saying "Yeah, show me the pictures"...yucky yuck yuck! But than I wonder...why that one? Was he the weakest, was he sick, was he already dead, or was he the newest member to their posse...was he family? Oh, blah!

EWWW. That is really icky! We might be moving soon and I HOPE that house is free of vermin. This one of Rod and Dorothy's isn't. I heard something in the basement roof this morning. It sounded LARGE. I met a young man yesterday that had gone to school with you..not a surprise in this town. A Bjorkland????? He works in the insurance place here in Athena. He wondered how you were! I told him to google you! Kristen, Steve's wife.

Kristin, I hope your new house is free of them. Thankfully, the rodents don't reside in mine.

That's cool that you ran into John B. I was thinking about him the other day. He used to torment me with Marcus during recess by playing basketball by their own rules. We walked home together quite often. Say "Hi" to him the next time you see him!
